Thursday Talks: Home ByKirsty

colour copper green jungle natural materials pattern surface trend

Welcome to Thursday Talks, where we chat to some of our wonderful stockists and get the insider scoop on what's trending in interiors right now! Today, we introduce you to Home ByKirsty, from our native Cardiff. Kirsty's shop is a feast for the eyes, and well worth a visit to check out her unique displays and collections of products.

What is your name, job title, and the name of your store?

I am Kirsty Patrick and I am the owner of lighting and homewares shop,  Home byKirsty.

Where are you based?

We have a bricks and mortar shop in the historic Castle Arcade in Cardiff & we also sell online too.

What products to you sell??

The shop brings you homeware by leading British and Welsh designer-makers who share a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Products range from small pieces of jewellery to statement light shades and stationery – all selected to brighten your home and make you smile. Love design, love your home!

What are your favourite trends at the moment?
Oh that is a hard one... I am still loving the metallics trend – particularly the blush and copper drop cap light by Plumen (middle right).
As well as the Jungle trend which brings shades of green and plants into your home. It is so easy to do too! For instance, you can add some leaves and bulbs to glass vases (bottom left).
And I also LOVE the use of natural materials in an ultra modern way.
I love the simple use of white & birch ply wood in the kitchen (top right).

What are your top 3 Sian Elin products and why?
  1. Tress grey wallpaper – I love the geometric qualities, they so simple – but that is always the best!
  2. Rosette mustard print – it is one of the best selling designs in the shop.
  3. Sian Elin Cards – the simple, pared-back designs are my favourite.
