Thursday Talks: Wallpaper Antics

Welcome to Thursday Talks, where we chat to some of our wonderful stockists and get the insider scoop on what's trending in interiors right now! Today, we introduce you to Wallpaper Antics, all the way from sunny Australia.

What is your name, job title, and the name of your store?

Andrea Renting, business owner of Wallpaper Antics. Also a busy mum of 3 gorgeous kids: a 5 year old girl, 3 year old boy and my latest addition, a 3 month old boy.

Where are you based?

We are an online store based in beautiful sunny Perth, Western Australia.

What products to you sell/what is your company about?

Wallpaper Antics sells designer wallpaper that has been sourced globally and carefully chosen for its superior quality and unique designs. All our wallpapers are printed to order and have that exquisite boutique feel, a lot of which are hand screen printed. I feel that Australia still has a fear about using wallpapers, and especially wallpapers that make a statement with bold designs and colours. Australian homes are almost all predominantly painted throughout. Wallpaper Antics is about showing the Australian market how utterly amazing a room can be transformed by installing wallpaper and that it is a product that should be embraced and no longer feared.

I also like to showcase some of the smaller/boutique designers and steer away from the mass produced as I feel it has a more unique touch and individuality.

What are your favourite trends at the moment?

Well I’m a little biased at the moment as I have a newborn baby… so I have spent a lot of time trawling nursery ideas! I love that so many wallpaper designs these days are ever so versatile and look equally as spectacular in a dining room, master bedroom and even the nursery. A nursery these days isn’t necessarily about cutesy ‘baby’ designs and motifs, all of which are blue for boys and pink for girls… but it is about making the room a tranquil space for mum and bub that will grow with the baby.

What are your top 3 Sian Elin products and why?

I am very biased as I love wallpaper. I love Tress Multi Wallpaper. It is my all-time favourite as I love the burst of colour it brings to a room and the angled lines within the design.

Closely followed by Rosette Wallpaper – again for the vibrancy it brings but I also find I am mesmerised by the pattern, which I feel goes on and on in a continuation of never-ending lines.

The Sian Elin range of cushions are up there with my top items. I have plans in the near future to expand the range of products for each designer and sell cushions alongside their wallpapers.
