Work With Sian
Hi! I'm Sian – a designer, interior stylist, and communicator. I champion ‘pattern play’ through the products I sell to the interiors I create. I started my career as a designer for major book publishers Oxford University Press and Penguin. It is here that I learnt the power of visual communication. I love distilling an idea into its simplest form, encouraging others to see the role of pattern and colour in an interior space – and the positive impact it has on our lives.
So, how can you work with me?
Designing
Named "Print Queen" by Katrina Burroughs at The Sunday Times, I have worked on collaborations and exclusive designs and illustrations with G-PLAN, Oliver Bonas, Fenwicks, Heal's, Debenhams, BHS, Mollie Makes Magazine, Oxford University Press, Hallmark, and Arvon. I am known for my use of colour, pattern, and shape to create modern graphic designs that are playful and impactful.
Interior Styling
Working across TV, editorial, commercial and private homeowners, clients have included Channel 4, Good Homes Magazine, and Ideal Home.
Communicating
I have a passion for communicating design to inspire, engage, and challenge, giving others the confidence to unlock their creativity. I champion ‘pattern play’ through teaching in pattern design and its application to interiors.
I lecture on topics such as surface pattern, interior styling, colour theory, design process, design trends, and professional self promotion – as a Senior Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University and a guest speaker at well-known institutions such as New Designers.

From my range of activities as designer, entrepreneur and teacher, I have gained, developed and perfected a crystal-clear perspective on how inspiration, theory and practicality can be found, learned, and developed by aspiring creators and decorators.
Writing
I write articles and expert tips for well known-media such as The Conversation and Grand Designs as well as for my own blog Studio Sian Elin. Topics cover interiors and pattern trends as well as design process and theory, like these here and here.
Colour & Trend Consulting
I forecast trends and create relevant mood-boards for companies.
